GAS PRICES ARE DROPPING?!?!?!?

GAS PRICES ARE DROPPING TOMORROW!! Oil prices have fell harder than they have in 17 years. Liberal MP Dan McTeague predicted that gas prices will drop down about 4.4 cents from today's prices. I for one am extremely thrilled to hear this. I remember the days that gas would be $89 cents and people would be nowhere near a gas station. They would be waiting for when the gas would drop down to 75 cents again. But now people are excited that the gas prices are dropping to $1.31. Gas prices are also expected to drop even more by then end of the week. This could be a turn around for a lot of travelers.

Right now, we are currently going through a recession and people are attempting to save their money however, if people are wasting a substantial amount of money due to gasoline then how are we supposed to save our money? Now if gas was cheaper and we are able to buy the same amount of money for a lower price then we would be able to invest our money for the future or even use our money for other goods and services that can potentially make our economy flow better.

Feel free to state your opinions. How do you feel about the gas prices? Do you feel that they should continue lowering their prices? Why or why not?

Gas prices are dropping and I too am thrilled about it. Just the other day I actually saw the price drop down to $1.25. I thought I was being punked for a second. Gas prices never drop that much in such a short period of time. This news is exciting for me and many other people who have been paying ridiculous prices for gas. If they do continue to drop, I’m all for it. I’m actually going on a road trip soon so this helps a lot. There is definitely something unlawful going on regarding the gas prices. In April 2006, President Bush actually announced an investigation on gas prices. In addition, just last month, some Quebec companies were charged with fixing gas prices. Perhaps incidents like these had something to do with the dropping gas prices.

I think gas prices should stay the way they are, if not RISE even more. Before you think I’m absolutely crazy let me explain myself. The increased cost of gas can have a huge positive impact on our environment. If gas prices climb high enough people will be MUCH less likely to go pleasure driving or driving out of laziness (i.e. being plain lazy and driving to the corner store), which will overall help the environment. The increase of gas prices will make it so that people are more economically efficient with our natural (and soon to be scarce) resources.

I purchased a round-trip airplane tickets from air-canada just few weeks ago. the price for ticket was so low. It was like $152 per trip (usually $200 at least, $400 the most). However, when the total came up with taxes and SURCHARGES, it went over $500 even though the actual price of two trips were totalled up to $300.

This is outrageous! so I looked at what made it cost more and they were taxes(as usual) and SURCHARGES.

Because the price of oil has been dramatically increased, under SURCHARGES, the there were massive fuel charges. They went over $200! Taxes are now more expensive than its product.

It is a good sign that the gas price are finally dropping. Samantha said the gas price should stay the way they are, but I completely disagree. Well, I would agree on not RAISING it but why not make it cheaper?

Also, talking about the environments, according to the stats, there will be no more oil available after about 50 years. Therefore, people will work on renewable energy source, such as solar and wind energy. I don't think environmental issues does not really matter because humans are going to use up the fossil fuels anyway.

YEAH! I was pretty excited about this as well! I also do recall 89cents empty gas stations. Especially when we were used to 60cents!

I am absolutely thrilled to hear this is happening. I drive home almost every weekend to Mississauga from Waterloo. That takes a huge toll on my gas bill.

I also believe this will promote some traveling as you do. The increase of traveling prices are increased based on the fact that oil is just way too high!

As for the decreasing amount of cars on the road, I highly doubt the gas prices really ever effected that area. Because regardless, there is always traffic at the same times every day. Give or take a few that is.

My question is, how low will the gas prices dip to? And will the choke hold on such an issue be freed and result in a huge increase again? Let's hope not.
